The guy at the parts store sugggested the Heavy Duty one... but it's labeled for heavy farming gear and things like that. Ok to use in my Toro recycler and my power washer?

For a long time, B&S and Tecumseh recommended only detergent 30W. Multigrade oils have a propensity to shear down and “gum” up. Now, B&S has changed their tune and says 5W-30 synthetic is OK as well.

Use the HD30.

Todays multi grade oils are much better .

I don't know if I would issue such a blanket statement.....
For example, on an air cooled lawnmower (only ran in the heat of summer when the grass grows), the viscosity modifiers used in multigrade oils bring nothing to the table - quite the opposite in fact.
A straight grade will suffer much less from shearing and remain in grade for longer.

I bought a few quarts of SuperTech SAE HD30 and it’s actually SN Plus …

Thats "that" problem with nowadays 20w50&30 oils.....they,are all API SN...

You think that you have bought a, decent HD oil with lots of ZDDP and high TBN for your OPE but...

Did you ask them what they based that on? What year is your Toro? The 95' Toro with a Tecumseh we had recommended detergent 10W-30 of that era and said you could use a detergent SAE30. The 2009 Toro with a B&S says detergent SAE30 only...

WP stands for "without (a) problem" in my case....

As you can see abowe...I am&was using multigrade oils in my OPE...

Even 10w40....which you are all afraid to use, because of its bad reputation in the 70s....80s...(btw thats 50-40 yrs ago! :D)

I've been using SAE30HD in my Toro recycler for 10 years as the engine operator's manual calls for a "quality detergent SAE 30 oil". I toyed around with MV oils a couple times and the consumption wasn't worth it so back to SAE30 is.
