S&W Equalizer

I wish S&W hadn't quit making the 3rd generation semi auto's. They were beautiful, solid pistols. They keep changing around their plastic versions. Too much, "out with the old, and in with the new".

The only S&W semi auto I would buy now would be a long barreled Model 41. And that's because I already have the short barrel. The Model 52 is a also beautiful target pistol. Another one they shouldn't have discontinued.
Like you, I’m a fan, but all that machine work cost $$$….they couldn’t compete with much cheaper guns (all with polymer frames).

Still, the 3rd Gen was the apex of their auto pistol craftsmanship.

I like the new Equalizer even though I won't be buying one. If I didn't have another 9mm S&W, I would consider it. There's a market for it with people who have dexterity problems.

I'm kind of a glock guy. But the Shields are tack drivers.

shield 1.0 then shield 2.0 then shield plus (higher cavity)...parallel progression with the shield ez and the equalizer is a shield ez 2.0 with higher capacity; currently I do not own any s&w semiautos & won't be able to get any for a long while due to tight budget

If they would make it in a .40 caliber, I would probably buy one.
I think demand for .40 is weak. Probably always be around. I personally see no "need" for it considering the cost of the Ammo.
But then again I'm fine with carrying my .380 LCP Max with 12+1. Yea, more expensive than 9mm but I shoot it just enough to be competent with it.
