Just looking for suggestions. Owner's manual spec's 5w30, but there is a TSB from Toyota okaying (is that a word) 5w20. Currently running Pennzoil Platinum 5w30.

I'm in southern Ontario (Burlington - Toronto area). Vehicle will sometimes see short trips (6 kilometres to the train station) and sometimes a 60km all highway drive. Winters can sometimes dip to the minus teens (celsius) or rarely sometimes minus 20's overnight.

While I'd like to garage it at home, my wife expects chivalry and wants the garage for her 2010 Equinox. Both vehicles have block heaters, so I really should let her park outside..hahaha..except I picture her driving off with 8 feet of extension cord dragging on the ground.

At work, the vehicle will be parked outside for 10hrs during the day and evening (no overnights).

Anyway, I was thinking about some sort of 0w30, but was wondering whether some sort of Xw20 might be better for the short trips that I'll be doing.

Thanks.

5w30 would be fine```
since rx400h equip the same engine as rx330

rx330 spec. 5w30 for year round

My rx330 ran Mobil 1 5w30 for 3 Winters in GTA with no problem

Last winter I was using Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w20. Then I decided to switch to Pennzoil Platinum 5w30. Surprisingly, my car started easier with the PP, at the same temperature, about -10C. I am going to use PP even in the winter now.

The pour points for these syn 5w30 are all ridiculously low.
