Rush going on tour

I wish them the best. I saw them several times in the late 80s / early 90s, and now that I'm in my late 50s, married, and with a young adult son, I'd love to share the experience with them one time. But at $300 minimum, this Working Man can't afford it. Let's hope Geddy and Alex aren't in on the pricing. Like Neil says, "Big Money got no soul."

I remember there being almost no women at their concerts. My girlfriend and I went to the bathroom, and the men's line was out the door while she walked right in with no wait! I bet this time around, there are more women. All us young nerds grew up, got married and had a family and now we're taking them with us for emotional support while we cry at the thought of the last time seeing our favorite band live. Yeah, I really want to see them one last time, but not at these prices.

I'll be curious to see how Geddy's voice holds up. It wasn't good 10 years ago. That's a range that's hard to reach at his age.
Also, Alex's struggles with arthritis are something that he has talked about for a long time now.

What I'd like to see is him changing arrangements to fit his current vocal range. That might mean going down an octave, lowering the song's key, or choosing to sing the lower harmony in place of the high note. We saw the key being lowered when they last played Circumstances and Hemispheres: Book I. You can find it on YT. Sounds weird

I just looked at tickets for Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. $300 for bad seats / $1000 for decent seats. At Dickies Arena!

A small group of us got floor seats for Dickies Arena before they announced the Denver concert. Gonna make a mini-vacation out of it. More than $300 but nowhere near $1k, although it is more than I'd like to pay. I just looked and worse seats than ours are double what we paid, and others are over triple.

Yeah, the prices were all over the place. I think some of it was related to how close to the edge, how many seats were together, etc.
The prices in the section we were in when we went to see Duran Duran were $800-1,000+ for the Rush show. I’m sorry, but that’s asinine.
The nosebleed sections are $200 plus!

I'd have been happy with the tix in section 108 but not at the current prices. Ours were less than half that and included parking and some kind of purchase protection, whatever that means.

Btw, Anika didn't start playing drums until she was 26.

"People need to be reminded that Anika wasn't a die hard Rush fan, so she, literally, had to learn 40 RUSH songs, from scratch, in less than a year, and then, perform them in front of 18000 people. That's grace under pressure!"

I guess the bug bit them very hard and want to do this. Don't know who the drummer is, but if they say she can play Neil's role, I believe them. Just worried about Geddy's voice, though. He was "Losing It" on the high end 10 years ago. We'll see.

My dad would love this, but from what I was reading tickets will be insanely expensive.

In our younger years, me and some of the guys in my neighborhood attended a RUSH show on a Friday night in a sweltering hot as heck old cotton warehouse turned tiny music venue with a bar. We almost caught heat exhaustions. RUSH played such a long and amazing show that night, most of us returned for a second showing the following night.

We almost caught heat exhaustions. RUSH played such a long and amazing show that night, most of us returned for a second showing the following night.

We were gluttons for punishment back then and thought we were bullet proof. We did the very same thing when Humble Pie came to town / played in that same little hot warehouse for two nights. They did Friday & Saturday night shows. Both nights sold out even with Led Zeppelin playing a large arena less than 60 miles away. They sold out both nights too.
We made it to both nights with Humble Pie since Steve Marriot and the boys were at the top of their game then. Their Smokin album had just been released and was smokin the FM waves.....

I watched most of that YT vid of her playing yesterday. Two weeks from tomorrow, floor seats, looks to be a great show!
