No one says a man can't carry a pink or purple pistol these days lol“We” have a couple LCP’s but won’t admit what colors![]()
There is a reason I said “we” - but no, they did not get pinkNo one says a man can't carry a pink or purple pistol these days lol
There is a school of thought that says, "Carry a purple gun".No one says a man can't carry a pink or purple pistol these days lol
I like the way you think. There is a school of thought that says, "Carry a purple gun".
Here's why - if you get falsely accused of brandishing, of drawing your carry pistol, they will describe it as a "black Glock" or a "Black pistol" because 99% of the time, it is.
When the cops see your Purple Ruger, they know the accusation was false.
Ive always liked the way @Astro14 thinks usuallyI like the way you think.

Reminds me when a Stainless Steel header gets seasoned.
I have some of the discontinued Ruger defensive ammo with the composite Phillips head tips. I also have Federal JHP....and a bit of target .380.I bought my sister a Cheetah print Ruger Security 380.......for two reasons, 1.) because she likes Cheetah print........2) same logic as @Astro14 stated.....it stands out. Details matter.
I suggest Defender Ammo FMJ as the carry ammo. I feel as though it is a "+p" loading, although they do not advertise as such.

What is it that you don't like about the Thunder? My wife has one that (if memory serves me correctly) had some little spring come disconnected which caused the trigger to go dead. I am pretty sure that I searched the web and found a solution and it's been good since. Not that it sees much use.I have some of the discontinued Ruger defensive ammo with the composite Phillips head tips. I also have Federal JHP....and a bit of target .380.
I don't know what to do with my Bersa Thunder .389.
PoS that it is. I don't even feel ok getting cash... however little it might be from the LGS.
I might just leave it to my son with the rest of my arsenal...let him deal with it.
It jammed routinely, FTE, FTF...sent in for warranty service to 2 different gunsmiths. Never functioned correctly. I tried various types of ammo and both OEM and aftermarket magazines. What is it that you don't like about the Thunder? Yeah, the 7+1 cap is a bit of a downer. It jammed routinely, FTE, FTF...sent in for warranty service to 2 different gunsmiths. Never functioned correctly. I tried various types of ammo and both OEM and aftermarket magazines.
The other thing I dislike is it's 7+1 capacity for approximately the same size as my Taurus PT111 G2 with a 13 round capacity although in 9mm.
Sure. The Taurus had a bit more recoil...9mm vs .380, but the Bersa has some weight to it for a gun it's size...all metal vs the G2 being mostly composite. The Bersa's blowback design doesn't help recoil either. The Bersa is no easier to rack the slide either.Yeah, the 7+1 cap is a bit of a downer.
Can you comment on how the PT111 shoots in comparison to the Thunder? I k now it's 9mm vs .380, but 380s tend have a surprising amount of recoil considering that they're significantly less powerful than a 9mm
