I'm shopping for rubber floor mats for my new (to me) 2003 Buick. Since we get a lot of rain here, I'd like the rubber deep-channel type made by WeatherTech; I've used 'em before, and they hold up well.

There are a lot of sites that sell them, all for the same price, most with free ground shipping. Anybody order anything from autoanything.com, autopartswarehouse.com, carjunky.com, or autopartsbin.com? Any other suggestions?

(I've checked WeatherTech's own site, and not only are they $15 more expensive for the set, they don't offer free shipping. However, if the quality of service is better than with these other companies, I'll do it and be happy.)

You may want to consider the heavy rubber, deep channel mats sold at Wal-Mart. I've used the WeatherTech mats in the past, but when I got my 300M five years ago I picked up a set of the Wal-Mart rubber mats. They are much less expensive and the quality appears to be just as good as WeatherTech. After five years not even the driver's mat shows any inordinate wear.

Pretty often Sears has their heavy rubber mats at 50% off: this is about $10 each. They are not quite as "custom" nor as heavy duty as the WeatherTech ones but about 20% the cost: available in tan, grey or black, rear mats also available. I've been known to use the big ones in the rear of the 420SEL's...

Cheers!

Agree almost 100% with G-man, but... the Walmart mats will fade. I've used grey, blue, and black and have found that the black and blue fade pretty good. The grey has held up well for me. I'm going on 5 years on one set and 3 years on the other. I've used them in all my patrol vehicles and can honestly say that I don't recall one ever wearing out.

Take a look at AutoSport. They offer the WeatherTech you mentioned plus lots of other choices. My wife purchased some rubber backed carpeted mats from them last year. They still hold water, but look a lot nicer doing so. Good luck.

I use those too, they're great. They hold a /lot/ of stuff in those pockets. I only have to take them out once a year if I'm lucky, to dump all the dirt and stuff out. My mom liked em so much she got them for her car too. Plus they tend to stay in place nicely, as they have little rubber spikes on the bottom to hold it into the carpet.

Mudcat, as it happens, I have their catalog on the desk in front of me! I ordered a windshield glare blocker from them , and while it wasn't right for my car, they took it back and refunded all but the shipping very quickly.

Come to think of it, I believe I have a 10% off certificate from them at home --!

I got the black ones and they haven't faded yet.

+1 i bought a set from Sam's for my pickup and they are heavy-duty mats @ $22

i briefly considered catch-all, weathertech, but they're floor mats under my feet and i couldn't justify the price delta

+1 for me too.

I have used them in my 2003 Saturn ION since it was new, and they held up perfectly despite scorching heat and intense sunlight exposure.

As long as the floor in your car doesn't have weird shapes (like the one in my mom's 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee) they will fit fine.

I've been to Wal-Mart and they didn't have any black ones with the deep weather channels, so I checked Sears and picked up two fronts and two rears, total $39.00. I put one of the fronts in the driver's footwell, and while it doesn't fit *exactly*, that's better than too big, no? I'll spray some ScotchGuard on the carpeting that isn't covered, to protect it from wetness as well.

I'll try the mat for a week and see if it sits in place, etc. Thanks for the tip!
