RP Max ATF or Synchromax?

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger with an M5OD manual transmission. The owner's manual calls for Mercon ATF. The ATF in the transmission is due for a change and I have decided to spoil the truck for once and get it some RP...I just don't know which RP is best. Max ATF meets Mercon specs, but RP says that Syncromax is best for manuals calling for ATF. Has anyone used Synchromax in an M5OD?

Its a coin toss. Both meet the specs.
Since yours is a manual and you want to use RP, try the syncromax. If, after 20k miles, you're not happy with it, switch to the ATF

My 99' Ranger w/Manual loves Amsoil ATF along with MT10 additive. Shifts better now than when new. Just FYI.

I use RP Synchromax in a BW T-5 in my Camaro. Works great.
