AFAIK, the stuff that Walmart is selling is NOT SL rated....it's SN, and even has the "Meets Dexos..." verbage on the back....

Though, dig far back on the shelf, you may find the "old" SL oil still hidden back there (yay for not rotating stock haha).

Used old sl stuff but wasn't sure if it Ned hps also had the api SL donuts on bottle.

No, the HPS line is not API certified.

Correct, but it does "meet" API SL requirements.

The newly bottled main line Royal Purple is API SN/SM depending on grade. Not sure if that's actually certified or "meets".

NHH; do you know if they are ever going to release a 0W-20 oil, street or otherwise??

They already do. It was the very 1st offering in the new API certified high performance street line with SN certification.

I haven't seen any statements from RP about the HPS line meeting SL? When asked if it was the old SL offerings relabeled they said no they are new oils. So not so sure it meets SL? Not saying you are wrong but where did you see/hear that?

As to the SM/SN certificatons( even SL )...

Thanks! I must be bringing up their older site only when I google them.

Do they publish ANY specs on this, like just the standard 40/100 cSt, FP/PP, VI, HTHS, TBN, Noack, etc. (NOT the 'proprietary' ZDDP/moly levels, etc.)??

Is there any problems with RP in a 1zz. I have heard both sides of the fence. I've ran RP in my old 94 Formula but that was the last time I used it before. Wanting to try it in a 02 celica with 65k.

I just noticed, when I posted the spec link, it was for the API stuff. I can't find a proper spec sheet for the HPS stuff. Maybe someone else knows?
