just looking for some good feedback on royal purple oil filter are they are par with Pur1 and moble one filters?

It depends on what you need. As far as efficiency goes, they are all about even, ~99% @ 20 um.

The difference is in the filter media. Both of theP1 and M1 are good filers but have a blended media (mostly cellulose with some synthetic). The RP has a Full Synthetic fiber media which offers better flow and more capacity to hold dirt.

It all comes down price and purpose. All of them are a waste if you are doing short OCis (under 7.5K) because you are underutilizing the filter. If you fit into that category, the Pure 1 is a fine choice, because it's the lowest priced filter in the bunch and a very good value.

In most cases, the RP is a little more money than the M1 but you can find both on sale. Overall, the RP is the better filter and the one I would recommend over the M1 just because of the Full Synthetic media. Both of these filters are a waste of money if you aren't going to run a long OCI. We have gone over and over why that's true and rather than repeating it yet again, please go back and look at older posts. Look for posts from dnewton3, ZeeOhSix and me, to name just a few.

I agree with Jim in the fact that it is a waste of a good filter under 7.5k. If you like to change your oil between 6-7.5k then I would use the filter for 2 OCI's as it will handle that like cake. Bosch D+ can handle 14k and has no wire backing, so I would feel very comfortable using any of the wire backed, synthetic filters (FRAM Ultra, NAPA Plat., Puro Syn etc) for at least that distance.

My royal purple oil filters are identical to the am soil oil filter when cut open. Only difference was adbv color. Both made by champion labs and all production. Markings were identical but different dates.

^^^HERESY! You may be attacked by the RP fans!

Even the Amsoil fans may not respect you.

The fact is that the RP filters are a great deal ON SALE, but a bit expensive at full price.
