Thanks Mark Smith for the case of Schaeffer's #132!

02/01/04-This is the second oil change, the first was the factory Mobil 1 fill changed at 1,525 vehicle miles. I have a Halltech TRAP intake w/warhead air filter -oiled cotton gauze filter. I used a AC Delco UPF44 oil filter and didn't add any make-up oil.

05/23/04-This is the third oil change, the last above with the same lot number,M29901, of Royal Purple Racing 21. This oil fill has 4,267 street miles, 87 HPDE miles at the Texas Motor Speedway infield course, and 5 miles of 1/4 mile drag racing at the Ennis Motorplex. Oil temp's during the HPDE event were in the 260 range and water temps were in the 215 range. I started using Fuel Power and Lube Control at 10,561 miles. I used 3 oz. of FP every fill up for a total of 21 oz. I started using LC at the same mileage, adding 4 oz. every 1200 miles for a total of 12 oz. No make up oil was used and an AC Delco UPF44 oil filter was used. I had a loose hose clamp on my Halltech TRAP air intake last UOA which was fixed this UOA. Oil was changed immediately after HPDE event. All comments welcome!

11/7/04 - This is the fourth oil change. All street miles with an A/C Delco UPF44 filter. No makeup oil used. I used Lube Control at 4 oz/1200 miles with 6 oz. at initial fill. I also use Fuel Power at every fill up.

04/12/05 - This is the fifth oil change. This is a racing interval with 2 HPDE days and street miles. Oil temps were in the 265 range during the HPDE. Halltech TRAP air intake/filter. Baldwin B31 oil filter. Lube control, Schaeffer's #132, and Fuel Power used on this interval. Installed Dynatech longtube headers this interval. No make-up oil used.

You might want to consider the RP Racing 41, which is an SAE 10w-40 grade. Considering your geographic location and this type of service, it may decrease this high valvetrain wear a bit. The drawback to using the heavier oil would be slightly higher oil temps, so you'd want to take that into consideration.

Note that your insolubles from the two batches of oil tested after winter use are significantly higher. This is normal but might be helped by running some of the Fuel Power additive in the gas at the recommended treat rate.

I see no real issues here ...just trying to fine tune things a bit.

Thanks Tooslick! I used FP for every fill-up this interval. Both interval's with 0.5 insoluble levels are racing intervals which I contribute the higher levels to. Still working on the high iron levels.
