Royal Purple 20-968 17.5k total miles

This filter was run two OCIs for a total of 17.5k miles. Vehicle is a 2014 Toyota 4runner with 167,560 miles. Not loving the wavy pleat at the seam.

That filter looks real good for the 17,500 miles. I'd not worry about that pleat (just take notice). Excellent run on this one! Great job.

I believe these are made by champ labs. Not bad but not great for the price but It held up. A bit of waviness isn't an issue but still shouldn't be an thing on an expensive filter like this. I thought these would have a metal crimp seam and media backing but it seems to have neither or at least some very weak media backing.

Never seen a RP filter with anything other than purple silicon parts inside it.

Mobil 1 extended performance for first oci and supertech advanced for the second oci. A quart of Schaffers Supreme on each oci to use up some odd quarts. All of it 5w30.

Also never seen an RP filter without wire backing, either. Champ has ruined this one, too!

It had the wire backing. The way the seam is done weakened that pleat though.
