Royal purple 10-2808 off Hyundai Sonata 2.4. Filter has about 6k on it the oil had 3k. The base (bypass spring) had a tight seal and was holding oil. Overall looks like a good filter

Out: RP oil filter and Mobil ESP 0W-30
In: Premium Guard Extended Life and Mobil Extended performance 5w-30.

Built by Champ Labs, same guts as the Endurance. Leaf spring still shows to have ruffles, so would have some leakage. Built 6/7/2024.

Agree on the leak, however this one almost snapped in vs the others (Frams) I have cut open just fell out. It’s more like the sealing would be around the ring and not the flat. I’m sure it would leak some but sitting on the bench it was holding oil without leaking by. I actually dumped more oil in and it pored out the media but didn’t leak out the bottom. I think this was luck, not design, but it’s also the only RP I have cut open vs many endurance filters.

I see nubs on the circumference of the leaf spring area that slips down into the end cap hole (that's why it fits tight in the hole), so it can't have a leak proof seal there. Therefore It's only sealing on the flat ring on leaf spring where the ruffles are.

Just because WalMart has the 3- 5qts for $75 right now; I bought a couple cases. The ESP 5w-30 and 0w-30 seem to be doing well and I haven’t had any issues. I’ll switch back after I use this oil up.
