Group III synthetic is a synthetic....the molocules have been altered to consistant sizes....Works just like a group IV/V in nature.
The only difference I see is that group III can't go any longer than mineral oil in intervals.

Do you think it can go just a little longer? Like 1-2,000 miles? Or should it be changed just as often as dino?

Quite a number of TDI diesel drivers have used it with a 10K OCI without any worries.

I went 23,000 miles on schaeffer's 9000 5-40 and shearing wasn't a problem but potassium was but it can be done with a Ford 6.0L
