I am thinking of switching oils and Rotella is what I would like to run. The thing is, my owners manual calls for a 5w30 weight oil. It is a Ranger with the 4.0L SOHC.

Where I live in Nebraska, we get temperature extremes. It can be 100 degrees in the summer and it can be below 0 in the winter. Is that 40 weight oil at operating temp going to be too heavy? Is anyone else running Rotella T 5w40 in there Ranger? Thanks!

Mobil 1 5w30 Extended Performance. My sons 91 Ranger has 330,000 miles all on M1 at 10- 15,000 OCIs.

I'm running RTS in my '90 Bronco 2 2.9v6.

I used to run it in the winter and Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w40 in summer.
But the RTS seems to do very well year round.
(even in the NewMexico desert heat.)

Use the RTS and sleep well at night! :-)
