What an awful experience that place was but anyway. The advisor told me how awful uniroyal tires are and even kumho tires are better......this was surprising to hear. I'm not a tire pro but really how decent are uniroyal tires? Are they terrible as they say now? I figured being a Michelin product they'd be decent.

I've heard bad things about Uniroyal, and they were even worse before Michelin bought them

What have you heard bad?

people either have great experiences with uniroyal or poor, based on other posts here (not a scientific study...). There are some diehard uniroyal fans who've gotten lucky / been very happy. There are others who have had problems with them.

I had a set that came with a used car which drove wonderfully until I rotated them. Three of them were very good. One was extremely out-of-round. It seems that they have the ability to make a good product but the QC doesn't catch issues before they leave.

If yours have conical characteristics, it quite possibly has nothing to do with the tire, but with vehicle alignment or even odd repetitive road/driving conditions.

There is a reason we call them Uniwobble.
