Roll on bedliner tips?

My Son is currently prepping the bed of the Colorado work truck I bought a few months back and was looking for some pointers on a Herculiner roll on product. He is scuffing the bed with sandpaper and brass brush. I will double check his work once the sun is off the surface. I missed my opportunity to get this done when it was drier. It's going to be nearly impossible to avoid humidity. How will that affect the drying time and overall product longevity?

Also, there are some plastic plugs in cutouts in the bed. I had him remove these plugs but I got to thinking that a thick product may keep them from going back in. I could always roll the product on top of them or leave them out altogether. I don't plan on any heavy hauling in this thing since I have a 1500 as well. Thanks for any tips.

I did this to my 2012 Ram several years ago. I took the plastic liner out. I scuffed the bed slightly and have not had any issues. I have had pallets and a few other things loaded in the bed with no issues. This stuff is pretty durable. Obviously not as good as a Linex spray in liner, but it was well worth the money.

I removed the plugs and mine popped back in. I think you will be surprised that it is not as thick as you think...

Thanks for the reply. I will leave the plugs out for now. I hated the plastic liner in my Dakota but left it in due to all of the scratches it caused. The factory bedliner in my Ram is very nice but I don't want to spend that much on this beat up truck.

put a nice tape edge around by the tailgate and lights. That Herculiner is good stuff. Just scuff and the bed. I used a blue foamy roller.
It held up for years

Have done it. Glad I did. As @TnT_M said, it’s thinner than you’d think. I tried to go cheap and it was too thin … best to buy the real suggested quantity. Sharp corners dug in hard can tear it, but it’s easy to touch up if someone cares.
