Rivian gets another $6.6B influx from the feds…

You can make that case, but it's fair to say the cheaper vehicle price has a downward effect on used cars as well.
When a sovereign nation is running a deficit/ debt, a tax break is still a tax, but the burden has transferred from the party receiving the tax break to the masses in a hidden tax better known as inflation.

Tesla sales continued to rise when there was no tax credit. Going forward, if and when the subsidy is no longer, Tesla will be OK because they are highly profitable and efficient. Other EVs will be hurt due to negative margins.

Time will tell.
California said that they'll reinstate a California tax credit but Tesla is excluded as they make enough money. Now Musk is whining, yet in May he said they didn't need it. California is Two Billion dollars in the hole, not sure how giving away more money is financially sound.

Government shouldn't be picking winners and helping losers. Not with my tax dollars anyways.

I'm sure he's fine if no one gets it, but here we go playing favorites again...

Now that was interesting to read.

Not to get too political, but there seems to be a lot of wasted cash in this industry. So much for the theory that AMZN would be Rivian’s savior,!
I don't short stocks, but if I did this would be a prime candidate. I noticed too many times when the government does this the company ends up going bankrupt.
