I've read a ton of stuff on Bitog about MMO and am a fan of the product myself, but what about Rislone, (the blue stuff in the yellow bottle). What is the general feeling about this product which basically promises to do the same thing, (although as I recall, it doesn't have the cool wintergreen smell).

Very little on this forum about Rislone.
What I have found and read was positive.
It also seemed to do it's job as far as cleaning engines up.
It would be interesting to find a sludger and start it on a diet of inexpensive 30 weight oil, a bottle of Rislone, and 3000 mile OCI's.
It might just start a run on Rislone, kind of like how I bet this forum increased the sales of AutoRX back in the day and Kreen more recently.

What evils of your engine are you trying to cure?
For the most part, if you want your oil to perform better, buy better oil, not additives.
Additives can also interfere with the oils own additives.

GreeCguy. Rislone has been around for a long time (like MMO). I've used
it in the past (thirty years ago). MMO wasn't available in Canada. Rislone
can only be used in the oil so it may contain zinc, calcium etc along with
petroleum distillates. MMO may contain only petroleum distillates since it
can be used in the gas and oil. It may work slower than MMO and it won't thin
the oil.

But you will never go wrong using the proper oil.
