Riot at Immigration Center

It's a private facility operating under contract with the government. The illegals must have complained because they had to wait more than 5 minutes to see a doctor or could not get the pain pills they were after without paying for them. Also the food might not have been served on time or the napkins were paper instead of linen. And because this is a private facility they may not have had all the government forms ready for a driver's license, welfare, SSI, a Social Security card, EBT and voter registration forms. Also the illegals are complaining when they file a Federal Income Tax Return that their $6,000 Earned Income Credit is not immediately credited to their new Bank of America checking account. This holds up the process when they amend their return which gives them three more years with no proof of residency or citizenship required, which amounts to a total of $24,000. Sometimes they have to wait weeks for the deposit and this can contribute to unrest as well. You can imagine with all this abuse that they have every right to riot.

Both my parents are immigrants that came here legally in the early 1950's and got a job the very next day. No red carpet rolled out back then, same should be the same for 2015 in the USA.

Both of my parents were also immigrants. They had to be 'claimed' by family members who agreed to pay any bills so that they wouldn't become a 'burden' on the taxpayers.
My father fought in WW2. My parents never collected a dime of welfare in their lives.

Look what 'liberalism' has done to America...unbelievable.

I'm an immigrant too and had to be sponsored by a family member insuring I won't be a burden as well. Ever since, I have been working every work day I could get while I resided here.

I'm sure the same rules still apply on legal ones-don't know about illegals though.

Don't sweat it, things happen and will continue to happen so long as people are people not angels.

Liberalism has as much as to do with this as being dead right conservative.

It has and will be just bad policy for decades on all fronts. It is easy to say you are working on the problem when it reality you are just erecting a wall to pretend it doesn't exist.

I know so many people who want to be legal but the current process doesn't provide a quick resolution so they are left with their only recourse. Come in illegally because working ins't the problem. They will work their tail off. I know more legal born in the US citizens that treat the welfare system like a constitutional right than illegal's poaching off the healthcare system.

The system failed and neither side gives a flying [censored] about it at least not until 2016...

The pictures reveal the perimeter of a close security prison, with two layers of razor wire wrapped fence and towers.
To apply the term "immigration center" to this facility is Orwellian.
Anyway, it's more of a deportation center.
Those held in the facility may well have legitimate concerns about the medical care available to them and it's not as though they can just run down to the nearest clinic as an alternative.
Inmates don't embark to take control of a facility on a whim, since they know that the consequences they'll face in terms of the loss of the minimal priviledges they enjoy will be severe.
Management and Training does appear to be one of the better private prison operators from what I've observed, though.
For the record, I've worked in prisons for nearly twenty years, so I'm not just talking through my hat in any of the above.

A "whiff" of .30 cal will calm 'em down. Results of the liberal, bleeding heart do-gooders who want to redistribute the wealth so that dead beats can have the same standard of living as those who are out the door every morning before the sun comes up on their way to jobs they may not like but can't quit.

I agree that many 'legal' Americans are far more of a burden than the 'illegals'.
I also agree that most Mexicans that I've seen are hard working, family oriented people.

One problem I do have is that once made 'legal' the 'Hispanic' gets the benefits of 'affirmative action' which gives him/her preference over whites and Asians for jobs, schools etc...that's the part of 'liberalism' that boggles the mind...how can they justify this...

So, if the system doesn't work fast enough for someone, they have no choice but to break the law? Bee ess.

Federal judge put the kibash to Obama's executive action on immigration this past week. Maybe that's what [censored] them off.

We are about the only country which vets the kind of immigrant we WANT here and enforces quotas for THEM yet lets skillless border jumpers pile in and line up at the welfare department. This WILL change, Atlas WILL shrug. The rest of the world laughs at our crazy policy while they export their poverty to US and, like Mexheeko, TELL us how WE should treat THEIR border jumping citizens.

We have less than two years before Obama is out. I thought GW was the worst president we ever had, but Obama has been an even bigger no nothing than W. BO's administration has failed, failed, failed. Unable to engage, can't relate to middle class and doesn't give a dam. And the hardest part of all, I voted for him-twice. The alternate choice was even worse.

The only real answer is to help the poorer countries become more developed with jobs, etc. People are only coming to the USA for work, and some to get away from drug cartels, gangs, crime. Most immigrants would stay in their own country if they had a job and it was safe.

We have 11M illegal immigrants. You cannot just bus them back across the border. We cannot open the borders as the country cannot handle all the people in the world who might want to come.

Thorny issue.

But we cannot just sit back and do nothing.
