Ring Gear Rotation and Optimum Temperature Sensor Location

--C19 put a damper on it for 2020 or I would have already been out there.

I hear you brother. I haven't wheeled the Jeep/buggy all season so I went into hardware mode. The buggy is getting a new GM drivetrain and my Wrangler is getting a new frame from Arizona. NH canceled our first couple of ATV trips too, but we finally went riding two weeks ago for a nice long week. If you could bottle that campfire smell, I might even wear cologne.

Since automotive gearing isn't always manufactured true to AGMA, you cant always use those standards.

That is true, but on the bright side, Mr Carbon should see cooler temps over time as the set wears in together.

What makes you think either of those is indicative of a serious issue?

Iron comes from lots of things, I don't see other metals at high levels.

If this was a regular gearbox, I would ignore it at this point.

I do not think it is serious, but I do question that much iron in that short of a run. I have tested many axles in my time and that one was the worst for 5K miles. In 10K miles it produced more iron than my FX4 did in 160K with 45% of those miles towing between 8-9K pounds.
