Kirkland IS Costco....Didn't miss it, just see your photo at a Kirkland station, not Costco. Maybe I didn't understand the purpose of the post. If you posted a photo at Costco with the hose reaching the other side, I'd get your point about people waiting in line to get a pump with the hose on the same side as their fill cap.
I think my OP is pretty clear - some stations, like Costco are amazing if you are a right-side filler (example shown/discussed) and some are not (example shown discussed). wink wink
keep on pulling there buddy... those 2 silver fittings up top are breakaways, so you don't pull the dispenser off if you drive away with the nozzle still in side.
( and they have expiration dates...)
Just had to watch those Pintos...Showing your age. Some of the best cars ever had rear refuel.

My Costco, has a sign at the pumps, advising that the hoses are extra long, and will always reach.

had to go back and look at pics of those models to remind me, as i'd have SWORN they all had the filler on the R(US passenger side)..
but. the olds, and the hyundai are both on the L ( US Drivers side)
just shows how reliable memory is/isn't...

I'm usually in/out the few times I get gas at Sam's rather quickly. Even in my F150, the hose reaches the left side if the pump is on the right with plenty of hose to spare.
There might be 2 cars in the lanes with right side pumps. If there are 3, I take it as a personal insult and demand to speak to Sam about his dilapidated little club.

I had that on my Biscayne and it was a surprising hassle, juggling the spring loaded plate and fuel dispenser. Luckily I never needed to use a smog bellows style on that car. And I bent over like an old man! It is the coolest fill spot, bar none, as well as a convenient one with "pump ambidexterity."
My Prius Prime has filler flaps on both rear quarter panels... Left is gasoline, Right is electricity. Makes sense for curbside charging in America.

no... the only RHD/LHT parts of Europe are:
- Akrotiri and Dhekelia ( part of the Island of Cyprus, still British territories with Military bases..)
- Cyprus ( independent Republic , Former British Colony )
- Malta( Former British Colony)
- Ireland
- Isle of Man
- Jersey
- Guernsey
- United Kingdom
Isle of Man is between Great Britain and Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey are Channel Islands. all 3 self-governing British Crown dependencies
the "Former British Colony" Shorthand formula largely applies around the world... most RHD/LHT countries are Former British Colonies, with a few outliers here and there, of course. ( ex: Japan)
Red is LHD/RHT, Blue RHD/LHT
some islands get creative... many in the carribean, are LHT, but most of the Cars are LHD imports from the US..
some Pacific islands are RHT, but many of the cars are RHD imports from Japan/Australia..
Like anything, it gets interesting when you dig down in the weeds a bit
