My local Wal-Mart carries both. The power ramps had a higher weight rating for the same price, so I went with those. They only need to be able to hold a Cavalier

So does "Power Ramps" simply lower their safety factor to get a higher weight rating or is it really beefed up more with stronger materials, more gussets, etc.?

I tried the Power Ramps, and returned them after use. My car only weighs 3100#. The ends of the ramps bowed in quite a bit when my car was on them. I didn't like the looks of that. I returned them. Told them my experience. No questions were asked. I will have to fork out the ~$44 for the Rhino 12000 at an auto parts store.

The nice thing about the Power Ramps -- as that you can stack/store them on top of each other.

I have been using my homemade 2x6 ramps for years. They are just a little too small, narrow, and no stop point.
