Restaurant adding things to your bill.

Anyway, it's a little pushy to tack it on, especially without a disclaimer somewhere in the menu or on a board when entering the restaurant.
I see auto-gratuity on large groups but for what appears to be 2 or 3 people for the reason it's a weekend, doesn't make sense.

The extra fees are nothing more than the owners trying to get more money out of you so they don't have to raise the menu prices.
The "Weekend" tip gets split around, so your server only gets there whatever percentage at the end of the night. A "tip" is for high level service and is supposed to be for providing that service. I have run into a few and I simply don't go back, but I do still tip the server on my one trip. Not there fault they work for scum.

So far in the Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach area we haven’t seen Tips get added onto the Bill
However, in the suggested tip Area, I have noticed a creep up and percentages suggested.
They used to start out at 15%, then 18% and if I remember correctly now when we went to dinner a a few days ago tipping started at 20% all the way up to 25%
What’s more in some cases you are now handed a tablet where your card is run so literally the waiter a waitress is looking at you while you’re selecting what the tip will be.
Anyway, the tax on meals in Myrtle Beach is just over 11% and now you’re giving a 20% or more tip so just about 1/3rd 33% of the meal price is tax and tip
I’m a pretty good tipper when I get great service and the waitress at crave Italian restaurant was fantastic. Just a couple days ago and I had no problem giving her 25% tip however when service is horrible well, I won’t tell you what they will get.
Now businesses have taken this to a whole new level to shed the cost of doing business onto the consumer in sneaky ways. Just look at a card dealer now if they do the honor of selling you a car some of them will now charge you a $799 transaction fee.

Tipped our server at 1st Watch 22% the other day. It was the max tip. The difference between and 22 an 20% was, IIRC less than a dollar. She was on her game and provided a much level higher service then I would expect at a breakfast joint.
The other restaurant I went to a few days back had me sitting for over 10 minutes without a drink by the time they came over I just got up and left LOL. I always regret it afterwards but I went to Mcdonald's instead and had my food within minutes. Such is life on the road. Those kids at Mcdonald's sure hustle though, if I ever saw that on a resume, that's a huge plus.
