Resetting Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Gauge Cluster

Well this is neat... First I saw.

Hold the "Reset" button on the steering wheel and then turn the key to the "ON" position with engine off.
 
I don't know, stumbled across it and took the title as it was. Never needed this function but it's a nice thing to know if a gauge is out of calibration. Although I haven't seen one like that since I was much younger.

Only time you should need to do this is to try to fix a non-responsive / improperly reading gauge, such as one where the needle has somehow gotten stuck outside the normal operating range. For example, if you see that your speedometer or fuel gauge has the needle stuck on the wrong side of the pin, this should reset it. It was nice of Chrysler to make this function accessible without a scan tool or just telling the customer to buy a new cluster.
