I'm gearing up to replace the T-belt on my Accord. Going to have my mechanic do the oil seals also since he'll be in the area. I called my local dealer to inquire about the seals and the parts guy seemed pretty confused about everything. I'm looking up the part #'s right now myself. Could someone please confirm they're correct? Muchos gracias

Had my T-belt done last year on my 2000 Accord 4 cyl F23A1. Had all front seals replaced. I believe the mechanic said the oil pump seal was one of them, too (crank, cam, balancer and oil pump).

Whoops! Forgot about the oil pump seal. How much did you pay for the job, if you don't mind me asking? What parts were used?

I also read this interesting blog post by a mechanic about Honda recalling Accords in the 90's due to the balancer shaft seal popping out. The fix was retrofitting a retainer to hold the seal in place. Supposedly Honda didn't care to implement the fix into 6th gen Accords (which is what I have) and this issue still exists. The retainer can be bought from Honda and is recommended during a t-belt job by dealerships. I didn't have my first t-belt done at a dealer so I don't think I have the retainer installed. Going to make sure I pick one up and have my mechanic put it in.

$680; it wasn't the cheapest nor was it the highest.

If I remember, the parts were: Mitsuboshi t-belt, Aisin Water pump, Koyo Tensioners and unknown seals.

Yes, make sure the retainer is there; apparently, the dealer installed one on mine during the last t-belt job in 2007.

yes get the retainer or it will back out... and the O--ring type seal for the oil pump housing... guy on eBay sells it and the balance shaft seal together. then you need cam and front crank seals
