Simple question. A while back I lost an exhaust hanger on my Cherokee to rust and corrosion. I just cut it off and decided it could go on with one less hanger. Now I've lost another, way at the rear and I can hear it banging against the fuel tank heat shield when I start the car or go over bumps.
What are the odds that I can just buy some new hangers and bolt them on, without crushing the 10 year old steel pipe? Or should I just suck it up and replace the whole exhaust? The only leak in the system right now is a small crack near the manifold, that I wasn't planning on fixing anyway.
I don't want to put a cheap exhaust system on that's just going to rust away in another two years, but I also don't want to drop the cash on a Borla system, it's unlikely I'm going to use up the Borla's 1,000,000 mile warranty (but I might). It would sound nice though, I'm sure.
edit: Meant to put this in the Mechanical/Maintenance Section, oops. Maybe someone can move it?
