Looking to replace the valve body on my 2015 F350 with a 6R140 transmission later this summer.

Identified two vendors as possible valve body suppliers. Ford and SONNAX.

Ford part number: BC3Z-7A100-B
Ford part cost: $490 USD

SONNAX part number: SONNAX F06R140
SONNAX part cost: $620 USD

Any reason to go with SONNAX over Ford for the valve body?

I'm no professional, but the Sonnax one comes with their upgraded parts and modifications, whereas the Ford one probably only has some, but not all updates.

Can I ask what's going on with the unit?
The 2015 f350 with 100k miles shudders only when cold. I am the second owner and purchased with 90k miles, salvage truck from a side impact accident. All documented on bitog. Original owner apparently an older gentleman , but cheap on maintenance. 6r140 regarded as rock solid transmission as long as not abused and fluid changed.

I replaced 75 percent of the trans fluid and the shutter was way reduced. I happen to find some small plastic in the old trans fluid. Research all points to valve body as issue. Yet more research points to plastic possibly being parts of a Teflon seal(s) not located in the valve body. But thought to replace the valve body and see what happened. If it happens to be the valve body, I win. I am always leery of guys rebuilding the trans, as I may not actually test the trans for months or years. (You) @clinebarger is always an option. This is a spare f350, so not mission critical.

At what gear shift does this shudder occur? Or is during TC lockup?

I don't recall any shudder issues on the 5-6 shift.
Have you tried resetting the adaptives?

Does this only happen on the first shift of the day, or does it happen every time?
