The Kenmore finally died last week. It was not draining and the water overflowed to the floor, wife mopped it up, and it happened again. Shut off water and electricity and found Rona Canada had a good sale and $100 CAD coupon deal so we got a Bosch Series 300 with the 3 racks.
The old Kenmore was from 2001. The racks were rusting, it only worked on 2 cycles (all we needed BTW) and I decided 10 years ago that I would not repair if it died. The only repair I had to perform was replacing the RH door rope, pretty amazing service!
The Bosch was straightforward to install, other than the having to re-route the wiring that supplied the juice. And no, I really doubt the Bosch will last as long.
My son asked me why I wanted to install myself? " the first dishwasher I installed was when I was 14 in my parents house in Vancouver and back then you had the same amount of connections as you do now...so why not?"
Okay, I am not counting the app on the phone to allow you to control the 2025 Bosch. Why? I have no idea.
