Replaced fuel pump/sending unit AND fuel sensor module (low fuel light no longer working)...

I have a 2001 Flex Fuel Taurus and replaced both of these parts recently...the sensor was replaced because the fuel reading was wildly erratic (and that it now fixed).

A residual issue, however, is that the low fuel light doesn't appear when low. The bulb IS fine because I see it when the key is turned in the ignition.

What could possibly be the issue after these fixes? Frustrating.

I'm guessing aftermarket parts were used? The Float position/calibration might be off from actual tank volume. This is where a variable Resistor comes in handy to simulate the Fuel level Sender.

Usually Fords of this vintage have a pretty low resistance at Empty.....Like @15 Ohm's, Get it outside the calibration range & it will set DTC's (P0460 IIRC)

Should have a Fuel Level PID in Scan Data to aid diagnostics ;)

I personally try not to run my vehicles low on fuel.
