The wife/husband yelled at them last night. They just lost their job. They're getting a divorce. They just got a speeding ticket/dui. They just found out their daughter is pregnant or their son is going to be a dad. A problem with the car just gives them something to focus their anger on.
If you can be calm and get past that initial blowup, all will be ok. Most people understand that machines screw up from time to time.
There is that occasional meth/crack/crank head to deal with, but that's another story...
