It always amazed me how a car this large can have such little back seat legroom. Such a poorly designed cabin. I could hardly get my size 13 shoes in under the passenger seat when I had a Panther...just dumb

The P70 taxi solved this as well as the "-L" version town cars.

I think the design issue stems from the car being mostly unchanged from the 1970's. I would happily surrender some trunk space for some rear leg room.

But there is no denying the front is very comfy. Plenty of room.

Call me paranoid, but I would have wanted the other vehicle in the background to be farther away when painting.

Yep-it's an express pass to have a very upset owner of that car that's nearby.

For some reason, and I know it’s a different sort of thing, but I prefer your new paint sheen to the original. I’m sure in might show the defects better over time, but it looks sharp, and I’d be tickled to see any paint work from my driveway come out like that.

Sidebar. Sometime in the late 80s 3 of us needed to make a paper mache project for a class. We decided to make a 3/4 scale coke machine. Yes it was large. We painted it red with a few cans of krylon…. In the garage…. Next to my friend’s mom’s tan-colored Chrysler town and country. It ended up looking like one of those cars which changed colors depending on what side you were seeing it from. Definitely had red dusting all over it. She didn’t get as upset about the paint as she did the windows. I don’t recall what we ended up doing about the paint, but I do recall the windows…. We carefully wet paper towels with dabs of brake fluid and used that to chemically soften the spray paint and wipe them clean, then solid soap and water wash.

If it wasn't for this, I'd still have mine. But a couple of kiddos in car seats really exposed how small the cabin area is. My wife's car at the time was a midsized Chevy Malibu and it handled kid life far better than the Crown Vic. Like you say, terrible for a car of it's external dimensions. Wheelbase is too short, too much wasted space with the overhangs on each end.

That was why I had to dump my Marquis. A baby seat in the rear had to go in the middle to not hit the front seats and it was a B getting it in there. Ended up selling the Marquis and leasing a Civic at the time that was way roomier inside, which is insane to say, but true...
