After a trip i noticed one of my hubs felt cold
I took it out for a drive and used the brakes a good bit. The right rear is the only one cold.
I found the problem.
Ive had great service from ez-lube axles on my previous travel trailer , and this one until now.
The axle seal leaked, and grease contaminated the shoes.
I ordered a brake set. I will degrease the drum and repack the bearings.
I think I will forgo the ez-lube method now. And just do 10k repack/ inspections from here out.
EDIT:
I used Mobile 1 grease previously and it always leaked red out of my grease gun. I know other members here have had M1 grease leak and bleed out of grease guns.
No other grease has done that. I think the M1 grease leaked oil past the seals.
If you look at my pic. The grease on the shoes is all red.
The newer blue grease is Valvoline Cobalt. They are compatible btw.
