Rented a Escalade ESV....

The only high techs I want in a vehicle are:
1. Airbags
2. ABS disc brakes
3. LED lightings (headlights, foglights, rear lights, etc)
4. Automatic transmission
5. Apple CarPlay

Optional
6. Reverse crash sensors. I’ll take a reverse camera but only for initial 1 second to see if the parking is clear when am boxed in my Suburbans
7. Blind spot sensors

Do not want
1. Cruise control - I am better than it and it outs driver to sleep
2. Dual or multi-zone climate control - There is no way I am letting you run the A/C while I have the heat on in winter or let you run heat while I have A/C on in summer. Take a bus if you want multi-zone climate.

Anyone know what
Everybody knows my involvement with the GM large SUV's so I won't bore you with that! :D but I will say the best bang for the buck with the T1 SUVs is the Tahoe (or Suburban) RST package. You get a lot for your money and none of the stuff you probably don't want. The next best value is the Z71 if you like more off road capability.
I dont have off road needs or towing needs. Just people hauler needs.

But the only tech i really do want and trying to figure out what its called is the 360 camera view where the seat vibrates if you are near something. That feature alone saved me from getting out a tiny underground parking garage in downtown LA.

1-5 are 90% standard on most brand new eco-boxes.. Along with a camera but not the sensors.

I'm kinda with you on the Cruise and Dual climates. But the rear of the SUV might need a high blower fan speed VS the front. While i don't care for it, i do care that i don't have to hear, "its too hot or cold". So i can easily take that as a must. But in a normal 4 people car, that is really not needed.

What’s your daily if the 911 is on ramp?
My daily is an F150 Tremor

Reverse cameras became mandatory in 2018.

Most became standard well before that.

I guess you have never been to a busy Home Depot "parking" lot.

I haven’t. I prefer lower tech vehicles but collision sensors and Apple CarPlay are safety features to me. I rank them as important or close to ABS and airbags. Things like heat and cool seats or multi-zone climate control are nuisance.
