Rental Review: 2023 Mazda CX5 Premium Plus 2.5L

I bought my 2014 CX-5 new in April of 2013.
I drove it for 80k+ miles, before giving it to my Step Daughter.
Fantastic car.
My SD then drove it for about 10k mile before she killed it in a drunk driving incident where she crashed into a parked van.

So, the car drives fantastic, and it also protects the occupants when they have a really bad day.

Has there been any more evidence / cases of the trans or torque converters failing on all the cylinder deactivation Mazdas?

Someone was on here who sounded knowledgeable on the subject saying that it’s happening left and right been has been kept quiet. Mazda issued a TSB to change fluid types as if that will help keep the converters from failing.

I enjoy my Mazda but their announcing of the last year of a normal 4 cylinder without cylinder deactivation is what pushed me to buy mine. I’ve never been a fan of cylinder deactivation, but even more so in a 4 cylinder!

The Mazda forums would be exploding with complaints if that were the case.

Not happening.
