I have a 2010 Grand Caravan with light shale seats. On the drivers seat there is a dark band that goes across the bottom section, looks like its from my black leather belt. Is there a way to remove this? I have tried all available leather cleaner from Autozone and nothing seems to touch the stain. Is there any other product I could try to fix this? I keep my seats very clean and condition them all the time with lexol.

A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser can probably do it, but you need to immediately follow it up with conditioner (it will strip a lot of the oils).

Yeah, nothing from the store is likely to remove that. The dye from your belt has re-dyed the leather on the seat, if you really want it gone you may have to get a leather restorer to come out and work their magic on the seat.

I'd try a real soap like Dawn dish soap and water (heavy on the soap) on a rag or maybe an old soft tooth brush.

Sometimes I feel like the typical leather cleaners don't clean very well.

I have had good luck getting tough stains out of leather with WD-40. Use sparingly, rub with cloth. Once stain is out, immediately clean the WD-40 off. Preferably with a leather cleaner and then conditioner. If you don't have any leather products, then clean it with a lightly dampened towel, water and a hint of soap, as little as possible to get the WD-40 out so you don't soak or dry out the leather.

Thank you for the information, tried magic eraser this morning, it lightened the area considerably but didnt totally remove the stain. If it gets worse ill look into re-dying the seat.

Had the same issue, tried everything and actually started to remove the dye from the leather. In the end, a detailer had to re dye that section of the seat, cost was about 150 and now I use a seat cover, never again will I get a tan leather seat

I think you might have to re dye the seat as well. I had a leather seat redone a few years back and I asked them what I should use to clean the leather seats. He said us Murphy's oil, yes, the one for cleaning wood. Much to my surprise, it said right on the bottle, good for cleaning leather. Might try it and see.

The best leather stain remover I've found is SD-20, spray cleaner/degreaser. It has a familiar smell kind of like a strong windex (without the strong ammonia smell) , but don't be fooled, this stuff really cleans well. Spray, let it sit a minute and wipe off.

It dissolves grease quite readily. It also removes stubborn carpet stains and lifts dirt with authority.

"Formulated to foam away dirt, grease and fingerprints from washable surfaces. Its industrial strength formula tackles a wide range of cleaning jobs-from removing heavy soil and wax build-up on baseboards to foaming away grease on exhaust vents an hoods. It will clean painted walls and woodwork and will remove grease from the inside of cabs on tractors. SD-20 will clean white-wall tires whiter than any product of its kind on the market today. SD-20 All Purpose Degreaser aerosol can be turned upside down and sprayed to get into hard to reach nooks and crannies. The clinging foam, no rinse formula allows concentration of the product on stubborn spots and aids in "spot cleaning". Just spray and wipe."

I was a car detailer for many years and I learned from the best. When the person who taught me how to details cars showed me this I thought he was crazy!

and yes we had products like the one above, it was called but it was Car Brite Extra DUTY.... However the way Im going to tell did a much better job.. It might not of been as fast, but it came out like NEW.

and here is link to other products we used
http://total-autosolutions.com/car-brite-products/car-brite-interior-cleaners/

but here is the best way , to make it come out like new!

To clean leather its best to take a bucket of Warm / hot water... Not TO HOT

Then use AJAX...

Then a hand held brush and scrub the leather and let me tell you it comes out BRAND NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then take another bucket with warm water only and take a small towel and sorta rinse the leather seats...

Then take a dry towel and dry it.

Then let sit till it drys

then you can use a leather conditioner or we used Murphy s Oil soap....

I have seen leather seats that were NASTY.. I mean leather seats that I thought for sure needed to be replaced and would come out looking like NEW!

No chemical in a can is as good as old fashion elbow grease

actually its not that hard....

but trust me it works.

We used to have the best detail shop in MICHIGAN...

Dans auto sales.... and we had contrats with many used car lots or even big dealers

I have seen cars that the owner bought for like 800$ and after we detailed it he would sell it for 2500$ easy.

We would wheal it out.. I had a Milwaukee buffer and we would prep the car first.

Put Simple Green on the Engine and let it site , then put Simple Green on the tires and RIMS and let it sit.

Then we would wash the car but not hit the tires or engine.

then we would buff it out.

then we would wash it.. to get any of the polish that might of went in the door jams ..

also we would spray the door jams with Simple Green..

then TRUNK jams...

the wheel wells.

Anyways.

then after we buffed the car

we would WASH with soap and SPOUNG and rinse with HIGH PRESSURE WASHER..

Also we shampooed the inside

We used NO ARMOR ALL inside the car... My boss didn't like SHINY.. He LIKED CLEAN...
Only place we would use a ARMOR ALL Like chemical was on the tires.
and we would spray pain the wheel wells BLACK, with BLACK PAINT...

We would make a engine look like new and let it dry then we would spray 500 degree ENGINE CLEAR COAT under the hood / ENGINE / PLASTIC and WOW did it come out NICE..... and it did not TURN YELLOW

We had a a wand that blew air and on the dash board we would not use WATER.. We used just SUDS from soap and we then would BLOW IT....

get the air vents clean.

It was a very hard job

at the end we would wax it with meguiars glaze # 16 and it was paste not the bottle stuff.

and boy them cars would look awesome.

Anyways... On leather... use what I said.
