Gentlemen,

My wife had a small accident a couple days ago. Now there is white paint from a vinyl post on our fender.

In your opinion, what is the best product to remove this paint?

I would try a scratch remover product, which is just a super fine rubbing compound in liquid form.

A clay bar and patience will be perfect

My wife lightly side swiped a white van on the rear drivers qtr. I was able to get quite a bit off with a clay bar. The I got the rest off with an old sock and some light rubbing compound. I then polished it with a microfiber cloth and some polishing compound. It only took about 30 minutes and you can't tell anything ever happened.

When reading the first post, my first thought was "Clay Bar". Give it a shot, it should resolve the matter or at least get it better than it previously was. You could then try scratch remover after that.

Sometimes, mineral spirits or lacquer thinner will work, but you will need to polish afterwards.

Depends on what you have.

Yes, rubbing compound or a scrach and swirl remover, or cleaner wax is the right products, as well as claybar.

If you don't have things things or are miserly and don't want to spend $10/$20 from the car wash section at the parts store, you can try first with Mr. Clean Magic eraser or even toothpaste or baking soda as a light abrasive

My wife parks in the garage with the braille system. I've use Pledge Furniture Polish and it works great to get rid of paint transfer.

It all depends on the severity and type of paint transfer. I did a job today that the lady got hit with a white toyota. I tried tarminator, xylene, naphtha, lacquer thinner, acetone, denatured alcohol etc to no avail. I had to use a plastic razor blade and meguiars M101 on the bumper to fix the paint transfer. Total PITA. There is no one-fits-all solution to paint transfer, that's for sure.
