The one option that I want to add to the new car is a remote start. The one thing that I am inflexible about is that I want a factory unit, meaning that I can use my Honda keyfob to start the car instead of having a second remote.

Looked into the actual Honda unit. Besides a ridiculous price ($900 installed) it is very limited in range and features. Even the Dealer advised purchasing an aftermarket unit. The only unit that I can find is this Audiovox:

It isn't a bad unit, I have had the exact same unit before in a Ranger pickup that I owned. While I would have no qualms about another, I would like to look at other options, but have been unable to access any.

Are there any other options in a factory unit?

I would not add an aftermarket unit to any vehicle as this has been the cause of many problems.

I installed two viper 5901 my 10 accord and 99 accord. A viper 591vx on the 06 Si and they are working perfectly fine. I do like the older viper though because of its faster response time.

My dealer installed a CompuSTAR 2-way remote starter in my Civic. One year later, zero problems.

I did inquire about a Honda remote starter and the dealership basically said that it is not as good. Their biggest objection was the higher cost and lower range.
