Ordered from Orielly Auto Parts a 3ET battery for John Deere tractor. Not many sold anymore. When I picked it up it was very dusty. I thought old stock and I wasn’t going to accept it. Battery only has 1 year warranty, common for agricultural batteries. Date code showed 04/25 and it was 06/03/25. Do you think they are changing date labels on batteries? Lot of dust for a battery just over month old.

I wouldn't think so on the label changing. Probably stored or shipped in a dusty environment. I would have thought the same on it being covered in dust. What the ?

There may be a true manufacture date or date code stamped into the case itself.

The warranty does start at the date of sale, correct?

Warranty should be based on the date of sale, not date of manufacture. Always keep your receipt. At least for Motorcraft batteries, we completely ignore the date label when it comes to the warranty.
