The following are the latest results from my engine oil analysis and comparison of Mobil 1 0w-40, 10w-30 and now Redline 10w-30. The first two numbers are for Mobil 1 SuperSyn 0w-40 at 5k and 10k. The third and fourth numbers are for Mobil 1 SuperSyn 10w-30 at 5k and 10k. The fifth and sixth numbers are from Redline 10w-30 at 5k and 10k. To attempt to minimize the first-run sample error caused by redlines intense cleaning action, I ran an Auto-RX treatment for 750 miles prior to putting in the redline.
The truck ('02 Toyota Tacoma) is driven with several very short trips daily as well as two or three longer highway trips every week. I live in an inland area of Southern California that rarely gets below freezing and sees Summer temps in excess of 100F.

My comments on the results: The last two Redline results look questionable. There are some significant discrepanicies (like the drop in lead, spike in tin and moly) that make me question the validity of the results. I don't feel comfortable drawing any conclusions based on this latest data.
My current fill is the German Castrol Syntec 0w-30.
As always, I look forward to your questions and comments.
