Gents. I recently installed Redline Racing ATF in my 67 Mustang C-4. I had a fairly complete drain (the converter has plugs) and the shifting seems crisper with the actual shift points moved up a bit--which is what I wanted. Has anyone had long term results with this oil and what is the bottom line? Best regards. John--Las Vegas.

That is what is expected. Also,GM auto owners would use Ford type F for quicker shifts at the dragstrip - an old trick.
I have heard that it won't last as long as modern ATFs, without becoming depleted and thin.

Maybe regular ancient Type-F/G will become 'spent' early, but the boutique fluids should last a long time. Redline makes excellent fluids.

Redline also blends the racing ATF to a 30wt. Normal ATF is a 20wt. So, its 40% thicker. Fluid viscosity will effect the shift feel and point, especially on a non-electronic classic vacuum/hydraulic transmission. Governor and modulator tuning can also address shift points and quality.

Amsoil ART is also a Type F. It is blended to the normal Type-F viscosity. B&M also sells a mineral and synthetic ATF.
