Redline SI-1 affecting fuel sender?

I picked up several bottles of Redline SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner this week and treated both my car and my pickup. The needle in the fuel gauge of each vehicle rises above the "F" on the gauge by a known amount.

After sitting overnight with a full treated tank, I drove my pickup yesterday morning and noticed that the fuel gauge needle was ~50% farther above the "F" than normal. I shrugged it off, but when I drove my car last night I noticed the same thing!

Has anyone else observed this behavior?

I've used other additives and not had this happen: has the Redline removed conductive deposits from the variable resistor of the fuel sensor?

I know GM(probably others)has a TSB on the effects of todays gasoline blends on fuel level gauge sending units.Redline(other brands too but my favorite is Redline) will remove these deposits and keep the gauge sender in good condition.Redline is safe for continued use i use a maintenance dose with each fill up.BTW AA and AZ in my area are discontinuing Redline and AA has had it for half price since last week.Needless to say i have accumulated a good stash

Well I have been useing Redline Si-1 for years in everything I have owned and have never had any problems at all.It is not solvent based so I do not see how it would cause any issues! If it was solvent based like many other carb/injector cleaners I could possable see a problem. Seeing how the sender is simply a float conected to an arm the operates a potientameter(sp) just like a Tyco race car controller I find it hard to see how an additive would cause any issue though?

Ya know, I sorta noticed fuel gauge differences after it as well. Mine seems more stable and sensitive than before the redline. It used to swing +/- 1/8 tank readings. If I was going uphill it would drop 1/8 and if I was heading down it would swing to up 1/8. It would visibly move right before my eyes. I thought maybe the float was very sensitive to movement but now it only moves VERY little even in steep angles.

Yep. My fuel guage readings changed slightly first after using FP-60, and then again after using SI-1.

Great. One of my primary reasons for going to AZ or AA...I'll have to check my area but suspect this is nationwide. Pretty soon everything redline will be mail-order only for me.
