Awhile back I installed Redline MTL in my manual transmission. Shifting quality still keeps getting better the more I drive it. No more gear crunch and it still shifts smooth as silk either cold or hot. When I`d tried MT90 awhile back, the transmission got really stiff once it was hot,but shifted smooth only when it was cold.
Could it be that technically the MTL is only 80W at operating temp while MT90 is 90W at operating temp, being too thick for smooth shifting? The hotter the transmission gets with the MTL,the smoother the shifting is,totally the opposite of the MT90
For the record, the MTL completely blows away the factory OEM Nissan 75W85 MTF that was initially in the transmission.
Just thought I`d share my current experience since alot of GL4 manual transmission posts have been coming up lately.
