Anyone run Redline Chrysler spec 7176? Any pro or cons? extended drains? anyone run an analysis on this transmission oil?

Its for a Chrysler 94 Town and Country with the 4 speed automatic.

Thanks

wow... I might be the first to try the Chrysler spec ATF. With the problems that these transmissions have had, I am hoping the Redline will extend the eventual dimise of this transmission.

Thanks, With the other additives and just 18,000 miles on the sample I would like to hear more on just straight Redline Chrysler spec ATF...thanks and hope others have some more info to add to this thread.

I have been running Redline's Chrysler ATF in my 2001 Town and Country AWD van for the last 50,000 miles. I am currently at 100,000 miles and have no transmission problems at all. I don't have any UOAs or other data to share with you, but I can tell you that my transmission is still running smoothly, which is no small thing considering Chrysler's reputation with these transmissions.

Excellent, and thanks very much. Does it shift well? No computer blurbs? and how often are you servicing the transmission. The reason why I am asking about the shifting/computer blurbs is that a transmission shop said the computer can tell the difference between 7176 ATF and a synthetic Chrysler spec oil.

It shifts well and has thrown no codes for the transmission at all. I have only serviced the transmission once at about 50k miles when I switched to the Redline and I will probably do it again soon since I have just reached 100k miles.

This transmission is an "adaptive" transmission that electronically compensates for clutch wear and fluid degradation over time. In fact it is recommended that you "reprogram" the computer after any ATF change, even if you refill with stock ATF+4, to help it more quickly adjust to the changed dynamics caused by new and/or different fluid. This is done by disconnecting the battery for a while, and then doing a series of start-stop cycles.

There is a lot of excellent information about this transmission and it's problems at www.allpar.com.

You don't need to disconnect the battery. Just pull the fuse for the TCM for a few minutes. That's what I did when I changed the fluid in my Chrysler.

Ok, have my new formed transmission lines on the desk, Redline C+, gasket and filter. What do you think...pull the hoses put the top nipple off the radiator in the jug and go..go..go? And where is the fuse for the TCM located? How many total qts will I need to fill this transmission up?

Well...I have 2000 miles on the Redline oil. The top hose on the radiator was the return to the transmission line and so far so good...that puts this reman transmission at just under 39,000 miles. At 50,000 miles I will service again. I will then go 25,000 miles on transmission OCI's.
