Hi. Has anyone ever used Redline oil as an additive to their regular oil?
I was thinking of maybe adding one liter of it at oil change time to my regular 5w20 dino, minus one liter, add one of Redline.
If it's as slippery and sticks to the metal as they say, wouldn't my Aviator get a bit better fuel economy?
Thanks.

Making your own syn blend is blasphemy here....

We hashed through the Redline as an additive a few times a couple years ago. Someone ran some UOAs with one and two qts Redline and it looked a bit better, but likely not statistically significant difference. No harm adding a little ester in this way. Perhaps would help cold starts in winter?

I used redline w/ AutoRX in a severely sludge 1990 Sentra. I did a pair of 1,500 mile runs. The end result was used oil that you couldn't see through. It was almost like black oil based paint with a watery consistancy. I never got the same results with any other oil during an AutoRX flush.

FWIW, it wasn't a waste because I recieved the Redline for free as a gift on an account. It was the racing 30 weight. I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to run a short interval in terms of lack of additives most API oils have. About 3 months later I had to pull the cover in order to have the seal replaced and there was a dramatic difference. I don't know if it was the AutoRX exclusively or if the Redline worked well with it.
