Original 426 Hemi questions

Hey ya'll, great news update:
the beast is alive and went around the neighborhood today! I rebuilt the carbs, tedious but not difficult. Fired up on the 3rd crank and idled pretty much perfectly.

I'm probably getting into the specifics that i should go onto a more specific forum but just wanted to add some closure. And thanks for the original pointers!

What does the local airport have on pump?
I called all around the city, seems to be avgas available to the public is a time forgone.
Im running 90 non- ethanol pump and VPs Octanium which is the best off the shelf booster, adding 10 numbers so should be over 93 which is what this was designed to run on. BUT id love to find some good avgas or leaded later.

What about fuel?
Ive found non-ethanol fuel on the pump but its 90 octane, i know they were designed to run pump with the 10.25:1 but thinking 90 maybe too low.
Also they need leaded and thats MUCH harder to come by.
Reading around on the web has been less than conclusive if the additives actually do anything at all.
Pretty sure these cars NEED leaded for the valve seats. Not so much for the octane as they were designed to run on the pump gar of around 93. Fuel pointers would be great
I have a stock 1963 Cadillac and the compression ratio is 10.5:1. The owner’s manual says to use gasoline with no less than 100 RON… which equals 94.5 or so, using the more common measurement today.

The most easily available additive for me to use is Madditive Octium by VP Racing. I can get it at O’Reilly and Walmart. It has the lead substitute and the octane booster. I fill the tank with 90 or 91 non-ethanol.

Skip the avgas and just additize with a modern lead alternative. Avgas has lead, yes, but it also had lot of other crud in it you don't want feeding your Hemi.

I assume you kept the original AFBs?
