forgot to add,.5 qt 10w-40 redline used for makeup oil,as valve cover gaskets are seeping!

How long have you been using RL in this engine (and how many fills)? How many miles on your Q? The wear numbers look pretty decent, esp with the tad of fuel that's there. Of course, this is not too many miles for a top dollar synthetic. Is it still in the engine?

common for the valve cover gaskets to seep on this DOHC v8,as the miles add up,about 700 to replace which will happen when the spark plugs get done in another 5-6000 miles.

have been using redline for the last 75,000 miles, changed every 5-6500 miles on average.used mobil 1 at 5,000 mile strict changes for the first 100,000 miles. total miles on engine are now 175,000,and runs like new.

Interesting. This lends some credence to the often-heard argument that Red Line results "settle down" after several OCI. Not conclusive, of course, but consistent. With an engine of this age, I'd be very happy with those results. Thanks for posting; good timing!

engine is just getting broken in!many of these q45 engines have 250-300 thousand miles on them now, with little to no oil burning running cheap dealer or jiffy lube oil and infrequent changes!

Nice iron levels. The lead at 5 and insolubles at 0.4 in 4300 miles seems a little higher than it could be, but there is always some lab error. That's expensive oil to run for 4300 miles!

What was the TBN? Wear #'s seem to have settle down from previous Q45 UOA that have been posted from this vehicle.

Interesting. The Titan's VK56DE is just a bored and stroked development of the Infiniti 4.5, so I wonder if it will have the same problem.

It's a rock solid engine platform.
