Red Line?

I got 5 bottles of Red Line 10w30 at a steep discount from a local Hot Rod shop. The oil has the mostly red label that fades to blue with the wording all being straight. But I did see some bottles that are mostly blue with slanted wording. Do I have the older stuff or newer and is there a difference?

I am currently running a mixture of Red Line Mobil 1 and will post a used oil analysis soon

I believe the slant letters is the newer label, but not sure when they changed. I doubt it is a problem. Call Dave at Redline and he will tell you how long it is good for. But I think you will be fine.

And you should consider picking one or the other oil Mobil 1/Red Line and not mixing as your usual maintenance plan. It won't do any harm, but there is no benefit, either.

I've been using Red Line in racing application, commercial gen-set manufacturing and in my own cars, truck, motorcycle and boat....works great.

I like being able to call for help and getting into the people that actually design and blend the stuff. They do everyting 'in house' while most others do not. Also we can get custom blends for our gen-sets that operate in extreme cold. They will talk to you about your requirements and make up a batch as small as a pail or 55 gal drum. If you wanted a 0w-2 for life in Moose Jaw, they will blend if for you.

There are several excellent oils out there to use in your car or truck and Red Line is one of them. Among the top synthetics there is no sane way to pick one over the others beyond price availability and which one has the best looking bottle and the latest anecdotal story from a friend of a friend.

Actually I was going to put in Pennzoil but forgot to get any and drained out my old oil. Leaving me now oil so put in what I had

Future fills should be Red Line and I will call Dave again

please correct me and point to the used oil analysis but I seem to remember that most RL/M1 blends did better than all RL fills. at least in street use.
