Specialty oil using fairly straightforward, easy-to-understand techniques (most of their oils have lots of esters, ZDDP, and moly) to achieve good performance.
They're a fairly small company (a gnat compared to Exxon Mobil and friends) with no interest in going big. None of their stuff is certified by any third party; they say they'd rather spend the money on R&D.

Yes. A good reputation, too. They are a very popular option for turbocharged, high horsepower, and sludge prone applications.
