RED LINE 10W30 MOTORCYCLE OIL Fake or real one ?

hello to everyone,

Today make an oil change with RED LINE 10W30 motorcycle oil to my Honda bike (buy 2 bottles of them)

I buy them from a local store here in Athens/Greece and I am a bit confused...

Bottle says JASO MA and not as the website advertise JASO MA/MA2 over the product information, and over the bottle also have some extra words (I think French language ones) that don't show up over their website.

Can be Fake ??? Maybe old stock ???

Because don't have to much experience with their products, the bottle don't show any laser print batch number like other companies (for example manufacture date or something else)

I try to detach the bottle sticker and see if something is beneath as a second layer, but doesn't have something like that.

The oil finger spot in the bottom of the bottle is from my hand, if anyone confused and also the small bottle sticker that is a bit pill off (sorry for my English) is to try to see if exist a second information bottle sticker.

Can somebody clarify is the oil is genuine one or probably fake ?

The only real answer you're going to get is from Red Line themselves. But that container would be a really sophisticated fake IMO.

You think is fake correct ?

Because if I understand correct bottle says (I use Google translate) manufacture in E.U

I send also in Redline the photos, and hope to get a reply back (and for sure I will inform the BITOG what they said)

No, I do not think it is fake.

JASO MA is fine. Many motorcycle oils are marked as either MA or MA/MA2 and both are ok. I believe Honda's GN4 oil is marked as MA on the bottle.

I don't spot this as why... just be confused if it is fake or a very old stock...

Know they change the formulation over the years in Molybdenum percentage %% (was higher in the past, from what they advertise today at 130PPM
 
The packaging is the most recent labeling and everything on your bottle appears precisely as it does on the bottles that I viewed at Summit Racing. As mentioned earlier, the JASO labeling is only for their recommendation and the actual product does not carry JASO MA/MA2 approvals.

As for country of origin: E.U. in the case stands for Etats-Unis which is French for United States.

Sorry for my English guys, don't make it on purpose to hesitate and spent your time.

Just because I see to many things over my life in engine oil world, I ask here because more experiment members.

This is a fantastic oil and I hope the fear of it being fake doesn't shadow your thoughts about the quality. If it weren't so expensive I'd run their 10W-40 in my bike.

I will give them a try (already poor the bike) and see over time how they work.
Personally I don't keep the engine oil (every oil brand) to run above 2000-2500 miles.

MA2 is not a new version of MA.
MA is a big category that is divided into two subset categories: MA1 and MA2. All oils that meet the MA2 standard also meet MA, so many companies mark the bottles with MA/MA2.
 
I ran into the same thing with Red Line when I noticed the website says MA/MA2 but the bottle only says MA. They've been too lazy to update their label in my opinion.

When I asked them about it, they gave the corporate answer that the website is the correct rating even though new stock oil still has the MA label. It's been this way for at least 3 years.

And yes, the zinc and phosphorus numbers are very stout. The last analysis I had done on my ZRX 1200 was with Redline 20w50 motorcycle oil. It didn't give better or worse results than any other oil I've ever run, but it sure has a lot of zinc.

That amount of Zinc causes me to be concern too because too much Zinc can
increase friction and increase wear to the point of camshaft failure
according to the Geek in this video...

Red line has been a top boutique oil for a long time, running that much zinc. Haven't heard of any issues, although you are correct that metallurgically it's been shown there can be an issue.
 
Update ---

I already done almost 500km with them :

Engine revs faster but I think a bit slippery exist on the clutch, don't feel it aggressive on full throttle.
Clutch is almost new 1 weekend before use on track.

Gearbox works very optimal without being notchy, even on 20 minutes lap session on close track with to use up down shifts.

I see bigger engine breaking during closed throttle.

Really don't want to judgement them in order to someone think I wrote nonsenses, but don't excited, and the price for 1 litter was 25€.

I switch back to mineral, as a flush and I will probably switch back on 300V Factory Line.
