Red Line 0W-20 VOA

There is no good/bad it's just a value that allows you to see the change in oxidation. Higher oxidation values indicate the oil has an ester component.
I see. Next time when I change my oil, I will take virgin sample from that same oil and see how much it changes in 6 months and 5,000 miles.
How much does oil analyzers Inc charge?
Thank you

That's better than Blackstone. Thank you.
Just spend some time in the VOA and UOA forum and taking in the comments/debate. But keep in mind, a $30 UOA or VOA can only tell you so much. A UOA, in particular, is best used for establishing trends in wear data....using the same oil and labs. A great example of a quite unimpressive VOA is that of Valvoline Restore & Protect which in the real world in many engines, has performed unheard of levels of cleaning of piston rings.

I regret buying it from Amazon. Red Line ships for free if you buy a 12 quart case so cost is same. But buying directly from Red Line gives more peace of mind.

Ester is mentioned on the bottle.

Thanks. The 0w30 should look similar being it's also an LSPI friendly grade. I'd like to see the oxidation value as well.
Hey, I was very impatient and couldn't wait. I sent a virgin sample to Oil Analyzers. But on the form that I filled, there was no choice of asking for Oxidation. Do they run that test by default? Thank you.

Oils with a high virgin nitration typically have a high(er) Ester content....that's part of the oil that does the cleaning. There is no "right" value......you typically don't want to see a large change from the virgin oxidation number to the UOA oxidation number.
I see. The report should come by the end of next week. I will post here to get educated. And I will send a used sample in first week of November regardless of number of miles. I am not exactly sure how many miles I will have but they will definitely be some hard and hot miles. I am driving to Moab, CO's Black Bear Pass and back to Seattle.
Thank you.

Yeah they always give you oxidation value. 👍🏼
I just came to know that their 5W-20 is even more awesome. Less VII so less shearing, and HTHS of 3.1 on top of that. Now I am considering switching to this. I am not sure what I will do if I need warranty work.
